So, I uploaded the game to Newgrounds


And it got a ton of attention, at least relative to what it got here, about 2300 views with 169 ratings as of writing this (uploaded it a week ago).

Which also comes with a huge amount of feedback, both positive and negative. And unlike with jams, they had no reason at all to filter themselves in their reviews. Luckily, almost all of them were really nice and constructive about it.

This gave me a lot of bugs to fix, features to improve, friction to reduce, and some glaring performance issues to deal with, while also introducing me to the idea of achievements, or medals as they're called there (shout-out to Blit Blat Games who pointed me in the right direction, while also giving me really solid feedback).

So this update features a bunch of quality of life improvements, a ton of bug fixes, an achievement system, and the addition of air movement (no more "committed" jumps, apparently most people hate them, or at least my implementation of them, and I think I agree it's better this way).

Some of the more challenging platforming is trivial now, because you can move while in the air, so you no longer have to watch in pain as your character misses a platform, which makes the game, as it stands now, easier than before, both in a good and a bad way. But it also opens the door for more creative puzzles, which I might implement in the future, if not in a sequel to this game.
